Matt Perlstein is
listed in the current edition of The New York Area’s Best
Lawyers, a guide to legal representation in New
York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. He
also is listed in the 2007 and 2008 editions of The Best Lawyers in
America. Best Lawyers is the oldest and most respected
peer-review publication in the legal profession. Because lawyers are
not required or allowed to pay a fee to be included, a listing in Best
Lawyers is regarded within the legal profession as a significant
honor conferred on a lawyer by his or her peers.
Scott Sandler has
been elected to serve as the President of the Connecticut Chapter of the Community Associations
Institute. Scott has been a member of the board of the Chapter for
the past several years. He has also served as the co-chair of its trade
show committee and a member of its legislative action committee. Scott
took office as the President on January 1, 2008.
Matt Perlstein,
Scott Sandler, and Greg McCracken were members of the faculty of a
program that the Connecticut Bar
Association (“CBA”) presented
on December 3, 2008 entitled, “Representing
Condominium and Community Associations and Their Unit Owner Members.”
Greg presented on age-restricted communities. Scott presented on common
charge collections and foreclosures. Matt presented on association
meetings, elections, and governance issues. The written materials from
their presentations have been compiled into a publication available to
members of the CBA and the general public.
Perlstein, Sandler
& McCracken, LLC hosted a booth at the 2008 trade show, presented
by the Connecticut Chapter of the Community Associations Institute on
March 8, 2007 in Cromwell. The theme of the trade show was “CAI Carnivale.”
Matt Perlstein, Scott Sandler, Greg McCracken, and Larry Malick
attended the show. They enjoyed the opportunity to again see many of
the firm’s existing clients and colleagues and to introduce
themselves to homeowners in communities that the firm does not yet
represent. The trade show included seminars concerning issues currently
facing community associations, and Matt and Scott participated in them.
Scott Sandler and
Greg McCracken plan to attend the 30th Annual Community Association
Institute Law Seminar on January 30-31, 2009, which the College of
Community Association Lawyers will present in Palm Springs, California.
There will be numerous seminars discussing legal issues facing
associations throughout the United States, with an
opportunity for them to share knowledge and experiences with other
attorneys and professionals who are interested in community association
law.
