Our People

Matt Perlstein was selected in 2006, and 2009 through 2013 as a Connecticut Super Lawyer. Greg McCracken was selected 2009 through 2016 as a Connecticut Super Lawyer. Super Lawyers magazine names attorneys in each state who received the highest point totals, as chosen by their peers and through the independent research of Law & Politics. Super Lawyers is a listing of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. Polling, research and selection are performed by Law & Politics, a publication of Key Professional Media, Inc. Greg McCracken continues to serve on the Executive Committee of the Real Property Section of the Connecticut Bar Association, and he remains a member of the Developers Council of the Home Builders & Remodelers Association of Connecticut, Inc.

George Mile authored an article titled Fair Housing and Assistance Animals, published in Vol. XII: Issue 6, 2017 of the Community Associations Institute – Connecticut Chapter’s Common Interest Magazine.

Recent Events

On November 16, 2017, Perlstein & McCracken, LLC held a seminar for officers, directors and managers of their client associations.  The event was held at the Radisson Hotel in Cromwell, CT.  The following pertinent presentations were given: Here Come the Drones, Evicting Tenants of Unit Owners, and How to Keep Association Minutes that Work.  The event concluded with an Ask the Experts Q & A Panel discussion.

Matt Perlstein and Greg McCracken presented information sessions at the Connecticut Chapter of the Community Associations Institute’s Legal Symposium held on November 2, 2017 at the Oronoque Village Clubhouse in Stratford, CT.  Matt’s presentation covered issues concerning the Duty of Care for Officers and Directors of Community Associations.  Matt also participated in the event’s Panel of Legal Experts Q & A session.  Greg teamed up with Kasey Burchman from Feldman & Hickey, LLC and gave a presentation titled Conflicts of Interest and the Application of the Business Judgement Rule.  Over 170 participants attended the event. 

Perlstein & McCracken, LLC hosted a booth at the 20th Annual Conference and Expo, which the Connecticut Chapter of the Community Associations Institute presented on March 18, 2017 at the Aqua Turf in Plantsville. The theme of the Conference and Expo was, “Innovation in Community Living.” Greg McCracken participated in the “Lunch with the Experts” program and Matt Perlstein stepped in for an absent speaker and gave a presentation on “Who Are the People in your Neighborhood? Balancing Multiple Issues in Community Living” with Suzanne Berry, CMCA of Imagineers, LLC. Jonathan Chappell and George Miles also attended the event, as did several of the firm’s paralegals. They enjoyed seeing many of the firm’s existing clients and colleagues and introducing themselves to homeowners in communities that the firm does not yet represent. The firm will host a booth at the 2018 CAI-CT Conference and Expo, scheduled for March 17, 2018. Greg McCracken is scheduled to be a presenter at the event.

Matt Perlstein attended the 38th Annual Community Association Institute Law Seminar on January 27-30, 2017, which the College of Community Association Lawyers presented in Las Vegas, Nevada. There were numerous seminars discussing legal issues facing associations throughout the United States, with an opportunity for attendees to share knowledge and experiences with other attorneys and professionals who practice or are interested in community association law.
